AEG Power Solutions (AEG PS) has launched its Protect PV.880 OD central solar inverter for utility-scale applications on ground-area installations in harsh outdoor environments.
The company says the new 880 kVA solar inverter supports up to 1,300 kW and that its integrated power stack PV core enables an input DC voltage of up to 1,000 V and peak efficiencies of 98.7 percent. The inverter is designed for harsh outdoor applications with an operating temperature range of -20 degrees C to 50 degrees C. AEG PS says its weight of 1,850 kg and dimensions (2,200 mm by 2250 mm by 800 mm) make it transportable.
A cooling system provides air circulation within the inverter. The enclosure of double-walled aluminum with a stainless steel plinth meets the IP54 standard and can be mounted on concrete foundations. The Protect PV.880 design can be integrated in the TKS-C 1600 container, enabling a total nominal AC output of 1,600 kVA and connecting to a DC generation capacity of up to 2,600 kW.Â
AEG PS says Protect PV outdoor systems are in compliance with relevant national standards and guidelines throughout the world.
