XsunX Inc., a company focused on thin-film photovoltaic module manufacturing, is reviewing the use of a new solar module encapsulation material for its thin-film module design.

Complementing its work toward building its initial 25 MW manufacturing operations in Oregon, XsunX has also been reviewing and sourcing new materials that will reduce assembly times and material costs.

"We are currently reviewing the use of an alternate encapsulation material that reduces the complexity, cost and time required for assembly of a module," says Tom Djokovich, CEO of XsunX. "In addition, we have opted to also offer a frameless glass-on-glass assembly design which we believe, when added to the newer encapsulation process, may help us to further reduce per-watt assembly costs significantly."
