With a EUR 530 million investment through 2012, the Bosch Group and ersol Solar Energy AG are expanding manufacturing capacity for crystalline solar cells and modules in Arnstadt, Germany.
"This investment underscores our strategic objective of strongly expanding our activities in the area of renewable energies over the next few years," says Dr. Siegfried Dais, deputy chairman of the Bosch board of management and chairman of the supervisory board of ersol Solar Energy.
The companies are planning to build a large manufacturing facility for crystalline solar cells, a module manufacturing shop and a new administrative building, as well as to expand existing research and manufacturing facilities. Start of production at the new facilities is planned for the beginning of 2010.
