Dortmund, Germany-based LIMO has sold an L3 LIMO Line Laser to the IPHT Institute in Jena, Germany. The line laser technology is used in the production of thin-film solar products. IPHT will use the product for crystallization of amorphous silicon solar cells.
"For the first time, we demonstrated an error-free production of this new cell type," notes Dr. Fritz Falk of IPHT. "With this result, we have opened the doors for an industrial use of this highly efficient solar cell."
