SPG Solar Inc. has completed what the company says is the largest solar system on a movie theater in the U.S. Livermore Cinemas in Livermore, Calif., now has a fully operational 132 kW rooftop system that produces 190,000 kWh per year to help power the all-digital multiplex cinema.
The SPG Solar system offsets 45% of the facility's electric use. The system utilizes 805 Solyndra solar modules, containing more than 21 miles of tubular solar cells.
