U.S. Federal Bureau Of Prisons Selects Constellation For $45 Million Energy-Efficiency And Solar Project

The U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons has awarded Constellation a contract to install a 2 MW photovoltaic solar project as part of a $45 million energy and water conservation project for the Federal Correctional Complex in Coleman, Fla. (FCC Coleman).

The efficiency measures implemented at FCC Coleman are expected to result in a 35% reduction in energy usage and a 50% reduction in water usage. The conservation measures are contractually guaranteed to provide approximately $79 million in cost savings to the bureau over 19 years.

Work is scheduled for completion in 2017.
