Japanese Cultural Center Of Hawaii Installs PV System

The Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii, a nonprofit, has completed the installation of a PV system on its rooftop. The organization teamed with GreenPath Technologies Inc., a Hawaii-based solar system integrator, on the project.

‘As a nonprofit institution, the cultural center could not take advantage of the energy tax incentives that is normally available to other businesses and residents, which initially meant higher costs that we weren't sure we could afford,’ says Lenny Yajima Andrew, president and executive director of the Japanese Cultural Center. GreenPath arranged a power purchase agreement through APB Energy Hawaii LLC to finance the project.

GreenPath worked in technical partnership with Commercial Roofing & Waterproofing Hawaii to install the 102 kW system, which comprises 434 Sharp NU-U235F1 modules, a SunLink racking system, a Satcon PowerGate Plus 100 kW AC inverter and an online data monitoring system from National Semiconductor.
