ReneSola Says Its Solar Modules Will Not Be Subject To Tariffs

Products from China-based ReneSola Ltd. will not be subject to the anti-dumping and countervailing duties recently imposed by the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) on a range of solar products originating in China, the company says.

The company cites its ‘diversified supply chain’ as the reason for its tariff exemption. For products sold in the U.S., ReneSola uses cells manufactured outside of China, explains CEO Xianshou Li.

SolarWorld and other proponents of the Chinese tariffs have criticized the cell exemption utilized by ReneSola and other manufacturers as a dangerous loophole in the DOC's tariff decision.
