CCEF Increases Rebates For Solar Thermal Incentive Program

0

The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund (CCEF) says that, effective immediately, the rebate rates under its Solar Thermal Incentive Program have been increased by over 60% on average.

The following are the revised rebate rates, which are calculated using the total annual thermal output in MMBtus of an applicant's proposed solar thermal system:

  • Residential projects: $275/MMBtu;
  • Commercial (for-profit) projects: $450/MMBtu; and
  • Commercial (government and not-for-profit) projects: $550/MMBtu.

CCEF's Solar Thermal Incentive Program, launched last October, is part of the comprehensive State Energy Plan. Funded with $4 million in federal stimulus funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, the program is expected to support approximately 550 residential installations of solar thermal heating systems and 50 commercial installations under the current rebate structure. All installations that receive funding from CCEF must be completed by March 31, 2012.
