SolarWorld: We Received No Federal Subsidies

0

SolarWorld Industries America says it did not receive any federal subsidies for developing its solar manufacturing plant in Hillsboro, Ore., or for redeveloping its since-closed plant in Camarillo, Calif.

‘Although the U.S. Department of Energy in 2010 awarded the company eligibility for $82.2 million in advanced energy manufacturing tax credits under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, SolarWorld has never applied for, used, sold or profited from these credits,’ states Gordon Brinser, president of SolarWorld Industries America.

The company did not elaborate on why it was providing this clarification, but a recent article in the Ventura County Star stated that the company received a ‘federal energy manufacturing tax credit worth $82 million.’
