DPW Solar Debuts
Power-Fab System

Albuquerque, N.M.-based DPW Solar has introduced the Power-Fab CRS-G2, a PV mounting system engineered for commercial flat-roof solar installations.

The new system features 50% fewer components than its predecessor and a simplified design, resulting in faster assembly rates and labor savings, according to the company. Available in 5˚ or 10˚ tilt angles, the system arrives on pallets.

NK Technologies
Releases Converter

NK Technologies has introduced the ADC series of analog-to-digital signal converters. The ADC series accepts analog signals from up to eight-loop or separately powered current, voltage, temperature or any other parameter sensor and converts them to a digital signal output.

According to NK Technologies, the ADC series is ideal for photovoltaic power production because of its ability to measure output current accurately using an appropriately sized sensor, and its ability to measure voltage output from any sensor with a 4 mA to 20 mA output.

Dow Expands
Shingle Availability

The Dow Chemical Co. has expanded availability of its Powerhouse Solar Shingle, a proprietary residential PV rooftop technology featuring solar cells embedded in shingles.

Dow has been piloting the product in Colorado, Northern California and Central Texas since 2012, and is now doing a major expansion to bring the system to homeowners in New York, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, Washington, D.C., Louisiana and Michigan.

Baker Solar Launches FlexTool Mini

Baker Solar, a division of M.E. Baker, has released FlexTool mini, an inline wet bench designed specifically for the research and development and pilot-scale requirements of wafer and cell manufacturers.

According to the company, PV companies need highly flexible tools to handle a variety of wet chemistries through a range of single- and double-sided applications. Currently installed FlexTools in the U.S. and Europe are operating both single- and double-sided processes with patent-pending touchless ViaFlood transport technology.

PPG Manufacturing
Thinner Solar Glass

PPG Industries’ flat-glass business can now manufacture heat-strengthened glass of in thicknesses of 2 mm, 2.5 mm and 2.7 mm, with surface-compression strength that exceeds that of fully tempered glass (greater than 10,000 pounds per square inch), while achieving ASTM C1048 standards for flatness.

The added strength gives thin glass used in various solar applications that require resistance to wind load, hail impact and other environmental hazards the ability to meet UL and International Electrotechnical Commission standards as well, the company notes.

Unveils Module Fittings

Thomas & Betts has released the Kindorf solar module fittings, which include hold-down clamps and a grounding washer.

According to the company, the product’s design features allow for a fast and easy installation, including hardware that is pre-assembled on the clamp and a self-oriented channel nut that is staked to the bolt.

SMA Launches
Online Sunny Design

SMA has launched a new Web version of its Sunny Design software for installers and solar professionals. According to the company, Sunny Design Web offers the same features as its existing desktop software and includes additional enhancements in a Web format.

Sunny Design was previously available as desktop software for download and will still be available as a desktop application. The new Web version makes the program accessible for Mac and tablet users and is optimized for use with mobile devices.

Ingeteam Introduces
Monitoring App

Spain-based Ingeteam has unveiled a new iPhone app designed to monitor PV installations’ power production. This new app has been developed together with the new version of Ingecon Web Monitor, the company’s Web monitoring software.

The Web Monitor software also contains all the Ingecon data sheets about Ingeteam’s inverters and technological solutions.
